About us

At Wall-op, we are passionate about harnessing the transformative power of murals to redefine how people engage with their everyday environments.

Specialising in collaborative mural projects, we work hand-in-hand with communities, enabling them to express their identity and aspirations through art. Based in Cardiff, our dedicated and hardworking team is committed to making significant, positive changes in our city and communities across the UK.

Our murals do more than make spaces beautiful; they ignite a sense of pride and belonging. By intertwining artistic excellence with community insights, each project we undertake is a step towards more vibrant and cohesive environments.

Our Values

Participation makes the difference.

We believe in the power of collective creativity. The best insights come from those who live, work, and play in the communities we serve. Their involvement ensures our art is not only seen but deeply felt and valued.

Open Communication Is Key

Our process, from initial concept to final installation, is built on a foundation of transparency and honesty. We maintain open lines of communication with our partners and clients, fostering trust and ensuring a project's success from the outset.

There is no Planet B.

Environmental consciousness is at the heart of our operations. Recognising the urgency of the climate crisis, we strive to make eco-friendly choices in all aspects of our work. Our commitment extends beyond the creation of art; it's about respecting and preserving our world for future generations.

Robin Bonar-Law, Creative Director.

I'm Robin, a graphic designer with a fervent passion for creative problem-solving that forms the core of my professional and personal life. My academic foundation was laid at Falmouth University, where I honed my skills in graphic design, not just as an art form but as a means of engaging with complex challenges across various contexts. This passion for design has seamlessly translated into my commitment to social action, with a particular focus on making Cardiff, the city I've called home for nearly a decade, a better place for all its residents.

My approach to design and life is coloured by a wide array of interests, from the intricate process of creating art to the dynamic world of cooking, each reflecting my love for creativity in its many forms. This diverse passion even led me to participate in MasterChef, highlighting my belief that creativity extends beyond traditional boundaries and mediums.

While my professional journey may not have started in children's rights and community engagement, these areas have become integral to my work, allowing me to apply my graphic design skills in meaningful ways. My love for creative problem-solving is what I bring into all areas of my life, including my role as a children's rights specialist and my extensive experience in community engagement and project management.

As a gregarious individual, I thrive on collaboration and the opportunity to use my design expertise to contribute to social causes. I believe in the power of design to not only capture attention but to motivate change and foster a sense of community. To me, good graphic design is profound and multi-layered, offering multiple layers of intelligent solutions to societal challenges.

In everything I do, I carry a vision for a world where creativity serves as a bridge to understanding, empathy, and action. I'm committed to using my skills to not just create visually compelling designs but to inspire and enact social change, making Cardiff and beyond a better place for everyone.
